First time meeting the Parker's!

Allie's dedication

First 4th of July (no fireworks this year...maybe next year)
Met her Great Aunt Dorothy from Florida
First Corn Hill Festival

First play date with Will!
First trip to the library

Little moments:
* making kisses sounds
* started saying "dada" in the midst of other sounds - she's been making b, g,  and n sounds too
* sits for long spans of time (and then falls over)
* becoming more and more impossible to change - I call her Squirms
* has tried peas, green beans, squash, apples, and oatmeal this month
* stares down food and drinks ALL the time
* VERY determined to grab things, even if they are out of reach (I rarely wear necklaces anymore...)
* rolls and rolls and rolls...if I leave the room and come back, she's never in the same spot
* anticipates when her bottle is almost done and puts a death grip on it so you can't take it away
* has days when she cries whenever I leave the room and she's magically fine when I come back in
* STILL waiting for those bottom teeth to pop through...they've really been bothering her lately - I check every morning to see if they've come through!
* giggling a little bit more (still mostly silent laughs)

6th month

First Lilac Festival

First time as a labor coach (Eliana was born later that night!)

First time eating rice cereal

First time in the jogging stroller without being in her car seat

First "surprise" party (her Aunt Debra already knew about it apparently)

Loving sweet potatoes! (and carrots too)

First time painting (as a surprise for Daddy for Father's Day!)

First time in the pool!

First Father's Day

Little moments:

·       *started rice cereal (fist more than cereal)  At first, she would get so excited and put her fist in her mouth as the spoon got closer and then she would just stare at the spoon because there was no room for it in her mouth.)
·       *reaches for faces
·         *obsessed with cell phones, watches, glasses (nearly impossible to text with her on your lap...)
·         * does this pose I like to call “the skydiver” when I'm sitting with her in her glider right before bed - she arches her back with her arms and legs up in the air behind her and stares at me, just an inch from my face. It always makes me laugh and then she breaks into a huge smile, still an inch from my face.
·         *reaches her arms up towards you when you're about to take her out of her car seat or crib
·         * lots of experimenting with her voice...it's quite humorous :)
·         * sings heartfeltly to things around her, like her feet or pillows
·         * started sweet potatoes and carrots
·        *rolls from stomach to back now too
·         *plays with her pacifier when she’s tired...slowly rakes her fingers across it while it's in her mouth
·         *lightly plays with the back of my arm when I’m holding her and she has her arm behind me
·         *has mastered putting her paci in by herself! (now if only she could do this in the middle of the night!)
·         *sleeps on her stomach alllllll the time...for awhile we would try to turn her back to her back, but we gave up - it's her sleeping position of choice.
*sits by herself for a few seconds at a time
*loves being lifted up in the air by her Daddy

First time celebrating Daddy's birthday

First time in the nursery at church

A beautiful day for the MS Walk

Visiting Jackson's Bakery
Daddy graduation - getting his Masters of Social Work!

First Mother's Day - dinner at Uncle Chris and Aunt Annie's

·         Little moments:
    * teething (little white bumps on the bottom!)
·        * becoming  ticklish
·         * doing a little better with tummy time (holding head up to 90 degrees at times)
·         * likes to play with my watch when she sits on my lap
·         * gets excited to see me – she tenses up and sometimes starts wiggling until I take her/pick her up
·         * all about grabbing things; moves her arm up and down like a crazy woman, grabbing my shirt, her carseat cover, etc.
·         * rolls over from her back to her stomach - hasn't figured out how to roll onto her back so this results in muffled cries/meows during the night when stuck on her stomach
·         * just starting to notice when she's handed off to someone new or someone she hasn't seen in awhile
·         * LOVES sleeping on her side
    * gets SO excited when she sees her bottle - tries to grab it and push it in her mouth
    * tries to "help" by holding her bottle
    * is anticipating more - watches my hands as they come close to tickle her
*  loves books...well, she hits the pages and tries to eat them...
* continues to be SUCH a happy baby...smiles all the time, but laughs are few and far between :)

First exersaucer experience

·         Little moments:
     *  no more swaddle...she looks so much older just sleeping in her pajamas!
* officially moved into her crib on her 3 month birthday
·         * sleeping through the night! sleeps 10-12 hours (thank you Lord for having her inherit her Mom's love of sleep) :) Some middle of the night fussing when she wants her pacifier...
·         * grabs/pulls things constantly
·         * puts everything in her mouth that she possibly can
·         * sings along with me (her favorites: "A Whole New World" and the part of The Little Mermaid when Ariel has to sing and Ursula steals her voice
·         * when I lean over her crib, she reaches up and holds onto my fingers
·         * little miss drooly
·         * sits in her bumbo
·        * goes in her exersaucer with blankets in front of and behind her
·         * more talkative!
·        * excited shrieks
·         * loves looking at herself in the mirror
·         * hugs blankets, dolls, toys
·         * starting to get bored and too big for her bouncy seat – prefers to be on her activity mat to stretch out
·         * plays with toys
 * rolls from her back to her sides
     * SO squirmy on the changing table
* crazy strong legs - if she's laying down and you pull her into a sitting position, she almost always stands right up
* loves loves loves the dogs (Tracker, Cooper and Lily) - watches them, smiles at them and is starting to reach for them

Allie's Nursery

Picture of Allie's room from when we walked through at the Open House.

This is what we found under the lovely teal wooden border.
All sanded and primed.
Surprise! We won't be needing those blue and brown samples after all...
After our surprising ultrasound when we found out we would be having an Allie instead of a Jake, we called my Dad to tell him. Aaron asked for the phone and said, "I was wondering if you wanted to help paint your granddaughter's nursery..."

I really wanted her name in the room, but it wasn't going to work over her crib since her crib wasn't centered on the wall. Above the closet worked out perfectly!

Inexpensive wall art...a piece of beautiful wrapping paper my Mom found at Parkleigh and some cheap (mismatched) frames I bought on clearance at Michaels!

Messages friends and family wrote to Allie at the baby shower. :)
Changing table...FINALLY found bins that fit! I told my Mom the dimensions that I was having a hard time finding and she found these at the Christmas Tree Shop!
Wall art for $25 at Burlington randomly enough!
 Changing pad cover
Crib
$15 find on Amazon! It looks like it lets a lot of light in, but it makes the room so dark we don't even need a shade! I'm thinking about buying a second one for aesthetics so we can push them open in the middle instead of pushing it to one side.

Some of my, I mean Allie's, turtles...on the gorgeous quilt her Great Aunt Jane made for her!
 Amazing detail!
Last detail: Aaron's awesome find! Night light and light switch plate on clearance at Babies R Us for $5!
