10th month

First time sitting at the table at Gramma and Grampa's house
(celebrating Gramma and Uncle Chris' birthdays)

First homemade applesauce
First mashed potatoes
First Hilton Apple Fest
With her buddy Miles at the Apple Fest
First time at Tiffany and Anthony's house!
Anthony and adorable little Ezekiel!
Learning Dutch songs with her great Gram

   Little moments:
·         * can get into a sitting position by herself
·         * we moved her crib down to the lowest level
·         * uses a sippy cup

·         * pulls herself up to standing using the couch
    * One night I was downstairs on my computer and I heard her pacifier being chucked across her room...followed by cheering.
·        * Continues to LOVE books - sits next to her book basket taking them out one at a time, reading them, and using them as ice skates on her hands as she pushes them across the room
·         * pats her head when you ask her where her head is
·         * after months and months of practice, finally signs "more" once in awhile
·         * puts her hands together to pray before we eat
·         * claps her hands
    * The day she mastered clapping at Gramma's, I pulled into the garage and said, "We're home!" (She applauded in the backseat). Later I said, "It's time for dinner!" (applause). "Do you want to go to bed early tonight?" (applause and "Yaaayyy!")
     * mastered getting up the step to the dining room and has made it up half a flight of stairs (with a spotter)
·         * cruises using the couch and coffee table once in awhile
·         * very nervous about standing without holding on to something - grabs your shirt tightly, afraid to fall
·         * loves "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" - sometimes fills in when you pause to ask her what animal to do (usually she says "duh" or "dah" so we sing a lot about ducks and dogs)
    * puts her hands together when you start singing "The Eensy Weensy Spider"
    * definitely shows frustration/anger now (especially if she crawls somewhere you don't want her to be and you pick her up to relocate her...)
·         * gives kisses (sometimes very long and very wet)
·        * initiates peek-a-boo by hiding her face with a bib or blanket
·         * has her top two teeth (4 total) with a little space in between, making her look like a cute little Goofy
     * first time getting sick AND first ear infection :(
   * is really developing her sense of humor - will repeat something if we laugh at her for doing it the first time (like burying her face into a pillow or the couch and then looking up smiling at us and doing it again)

First time visiting Daddy at work!

First time on Grampa's motorcycle (as far as I know)
Gram's 90th birthday party
Heading home after her first day at the day care...
Learned how to crawl - loving her tunnel!
First time in a shopping cart "the big girl way"

·         Little moments:
     * officially crawling! (and man, is she fast!)
·         * can go from sitting to crawling/laying down
·         * When she is really tired after her evening bottle, she won't sit up on my lap to burp. She immediately turns  and puts her head on my chest to cuddle. I love it. Makes me smile every time. :)
·         * started at daycare two days a week
·         * started puffs - hated them at first and now loves them...as soon as you pour them on her tray she hoards them all
·         * we are no longer able to get away with her in her carseat in restaurants...she squirms right out. High chairs all the way now...
·         * finally likes bath time! She has let go of her death grip on the sides of her tub and actually splashes the water and plays with (eats) the toys
·         * obsessed with cords- can crawl across the room in the blink of an eye if she spies a cord that isn't blocked/hidden
·         * apparently inherited a new set of lungs - man this girl can get loud!
·         * will occasionally wave
     * starting to understand "no" (although I think she may have understood awhile ago and was just not listening to me) :)

First tooth!

First time at Springdale Farm
First time meeting Eliana!
She's so adorable!

First wedding! (Matt and Sarah Lynch)
At the reception

Little moments:

·         * sits completely on her own and puts her arm out to catch herself if she starts to fall - doesn't know how to get from sitting to her back or stomach so if I put her down somewhere I know she isn't going anywhere (for now)
·         * makes kisses sounds/smacks her lips all the time
·         * turns pages in books (often upsidedown)
·         * started peas (not a big fan at first – talked/ignored the spoon instead of eating) and lots of other new foods
·         * rolls everywhere
·         * crawls backwards and   inchworm crawls forward - SO close to full out crawling
·         * "dances" (bounces up and down if she's sitting and there is music on)
·         * FINALLY got her first two teeth after teething for 4 months
·         * I'm starting to lose my little cuddler - she starts to cuddle and then suddenly pushes up and looks around like she's afraid she's going to miss something. I still get my cuddles in when she's super tired. :)
·         * lots of talking and singing - lots of new sounds although "dada" is still her favorite
·         * starting to understand language more - will usually look at me if someone asks, "Where's Mommy?"  she knows Tracker too and she's getting there with Daddy. She understands when I ask her if she wants more while she's eating.
    * giggling and laughing a lot more!
   * likes to turn the light off in the bathroom...I let her bat wildly at the light switch and sometimes she can get the down motion enough to turn it off
   * starting to see some anger and frustration - she's not happy when I tell her no when she tries to grab my glasses off my face. She even had a little tantrum for Gramma when she tried to put Allie in her carseat and apparently she didn't want to be in there. She gave Gramma a little grunt/yell and balled up her fist. Gramma, the disciplinarian, couldn't stop laughing.
   * She's getting quieter in unfamiliar situations - she gets very serious and needs awhile to take everything in
   * has cried a few times when handed to someone new or someone she doesn't know very well - looks at Mommy like I've betrayed her
   * LOVES Tracker...shrieks excitedly almost every morning when she sees him for the first time
   * has enjoyed being able to sleep in this summer (and so has Mommy) - sleeping 7:30pm - 7:30 or 8:30am - with two 1 1/2 to 2 hour naps during the day

First time meeting the Parker's!

Allie's dedication

First 4th of July (no fireworks this year...maybe next year)
Met her Great Aunt Dorothy from Florida
First Corn Hill Festival

First play date with Will!
First trip to the library

Little moments:
* making kisses sounds
* started saying "dada" in the midst of other sounds - she's been making b, g,  and n sounds too
* sits for long spans of time (and then falls over)
* becoming more and more impossible to change - I call her Squirms
* has tried peas, green beans, squash, apples, and oatmeal this month
* stares down food and drinks ALL the time
* VERY determined to grab things, even if they are out of reach (I rarely wear necklaces anymore...)
* rolls and rolls and rolls...if I leave the room and come back, she's never in the same spot
* anticipates when her bottle is almost done and puts a death grip on it so you can't take it away
* has days when she cries whenever I leave the room and she's magically fine when I come back in
* STILL waiting for those bottom teeth to pop through...they've really been bothering her lately - I check every morning to see if they've come through!
* giggling a little bit more (still mostly silent laughs)
